President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The call touched on the close bilateral ties across various fields. The Greek prime minster expressed his keenness to exchange views and consult with President El Sisi on regional issues of mutual interest. He also stressed the importance of joint coordination in this context both at the bilateral level and trilateral cooperation mechanism with Cyprus.
President El Sisi and Prime Minister Mitsotakis confirmed the alignment of interests and common positions between the two countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The President affirmed the strong and outstanding relations that bind the two countries and that Egypt values positive development in cooperation and that it looks forward to advancing different aspects of cooperation, particularly at the security, military and economic levels, so as to realize the interests of the two peoples.
The call also touched on means to coordinate efforts with Egypt as a key EU partner in countering terrorism, extremism and illegal migration.
